Included Features

Voicemail/Voicemail to Email – When someone calls and the phone is not answered within a certain number of rings, they will hear a voicemail prompt. You can personalize your voicemail so that callers receive your customized greeting prompt. This feature allows you to set up your Voicemail, turn it ON/OFF or forward it to an email address. To turn Voicemail ON/OFF or forward to Email, simply check the appropriate checkbox provided and enter an email address in the textbox provided. To access the Voicemail Menu system, simply dial 888 and follow the instruction prompts.


Call Waiting – Never miss an important call. This feature allows you to receive another call while you are on the phone. When there is a call waiting, you will hear several beeps, you simply press the Flash button (or click the receiver once) to answer and toggle between the two calls. If you hang up from one call, the phone will ring to remind you there is another call waiting.


Call Transfer – Whether you need to pass a call on or just need help making business easy, this feature allows you to transfer a call even if your phone does not have a transfer button. To transfer a call, simply press the Flash button (or click the receiver once) to get a new dial tone. Then dial the number you want to transfer the call to. When the 3rd party answers, you can hang up. If the call transfer fails, you will get the call back. You can use Flash to toggle between calls.


Call Forwarding – Forward your calls to another number for an hour or always. This feature allows you to unconditionally forward incoming calls to a different telephone or SIP number. You may either set this up by simply logging into your account via the Web Portal, selecting My Account Details, Feature Settings and then checking the Call Forwarding checkbox, or use your telephone keypad as follows:

Call Forwarding ON: *74* followed by the number to forward calls to

Call Forwarding OFF: *75


Caller ID – When you receive a call, the number which is calling will auto display on your phone, as long as your phone has display capabilities.


Three-way Calling – This feature allows you to have a three-way conference call. While in conversation, press FLASH (on the analog phone, or Hook Flash for old model phones) to get a dial tone, dial *23 then number you want to add to conversation (wait for 4 seconds).  When the 2nd party answers, press FLASH again to begin conference. Repeat the process to add the 3rd person, then press FLASH again to begin the call.


Last Number Redial – If the handset being used supports this, when the redial button is pressed, the numbers are sent and the call is completed.


Call Hold – Put a call on hold by clicking the Flash button on the phone. This allows you to toggle between two calls.


Network Unavailable Forwarding – This feature works the same as Call Forwarding. However, a call is only forwarded to a different telephone or SIP number if your current number is unavailable or unreachable on the Network, for example if you are offline. You may set this up by simply logging into your account via the Web Portal, selecting My Account Details, Feature Settings, checking the Network Unavailable Forwarding checkbox and entering the number you wish to forward your calls to in the textbox provided.


Do Not Disturb – You can have calls automatically go to voicemail. This feature allows you to send your calls directly to Voicemail without it ever ringing your phone. However, if Voicemail is not turned on, the caller will receive a message stating that the person they are calling does not wish to be disturbed. You may either set this up by simply logging into your account via the Web Portal, selecting My Account Details, Feature Settings and checking the Do Not Disturb checkbox, or you can use your telephone keypad as follows:

International Call Block – FonVantage has great International rates however you can guarantee that no calls abroad are made on your phone. This feature allows you to block International calls from being made from your number. If this feature is turned on and someone attempts to make an International call, they will hear a message stating that calls to that number are not currently part of your plan. You may set this up by simply logging into your account via the Web Portal, selecting My Account Details, Feature Settings and checking the International Call Block checkbox.


Call Details – You have access to view your calls in real time, as the system is updated every 10 minutes. You can select call parameters by Year/Month to generate a list of your call details so you always know where and how long your phone is connecting.


7 Digit Dialing Preselect – This feature allows you to change your pre-selected area code. By default, the area code of your telephone number will be used for 7 Digit Dialing. You may change your 7 Digit Dialing area code by simply logging into your account via the Web Portal, selecting My Account Details, Feature Settings and entering your desired area code into the text box provided.


Advanced Services Descriptions:

Enhanced 911 Emergency Services (E911) – FonVantage includes 911 Services. In an emergency, any US-based FonVantage subscriber can dial 911 on their FonVantage line and receive assistance.

When a person makes a 911 call using a traditional phone with ground wires, the call is routed to the nearest Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), which then distributes the emergency call to the proper services. The PSAP receives the caller's phone number and the exact address location of the phone from which the call was made. Because VoIP uses the Internet, it is not possible for a PSAP to know exact address location. E911, short for Enhanced 911, is a location technology advanced by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that enables US-based Mobile or VoIP Service providers to process 911 emergency calls and enable emergency services to locate the geographic position of the caller. All US-based subscribers must register their E911 Location Details with FonVantage.

FonVantage customer’s E911 Registration Location details are exported (by the FEP) to a designated E911 Service Provider for area code/zip code/location assignment immediately upon activation of their account. All customers receive a confirmation email verifying their registration location details within 10 minutes of account activation.
