Installation with a Single Computer
If you have a Router between your Cable/DSL modem and your ATA device.
If you have had service set up and working previously and are now experiencing difficulty, check to make sure the power cord to your Cable/DSL modem is connected, and that you are able to access the Internet
• Connect the Ethernet cable from the Cable/DSL modem to your existing router
• Connect an Ethernet cable from the Router Ethernet port to the Ethernet port on the Phone Adapter
• Connect a telephone to the LINE 1 port of the Phone Adapter using a standard phone cord
• Connect the Power cable, provided with the Phone Adapter, to the POWER port on the Phone Adapter and plug it into the wall.
• Wait at least five minutes for the Phone Adapter to boot up. The Phone Adapter's blue power light will blink in sequence until it has fully connected to the FonVantage network. Do not interrupt the configuration process by unplugging the power or lifting the receiver on your phone during the startup process. Interruption of the startup may result in interruption of service.
• Once the Phone Adapter's blue power light is solid blue, the Phone Adapter is ready to use.
• Pick up your telephone receiver and listen for a dial tone. If you hear a dial tone, you have finished the installation and can begin making calls. If you do not get a dial tone, please complete the above directions again. If you are still unsuccessful, contact FonVantage Customer Service at 1888-FON-VANTage (888-366-8268)
If you do not use a router between your Cable/DSL modem and your ATA device.
Check to make sure the power cord to your Cable/DSL modem is connected, and that you are able to access the internet
• Connect the Ethernet cable from the Cable/DSL modem to your FonVantage device unit
• Connect a telephone to the Phone 1 port of the ATA using a standard phone cord
• Connect the Power cable, provided with the ATA, to the POWER port and plug it into the wall.
• Wait at least five minutes for the ATA/Router to boot up. The device's blue power light will blink in sequence until it has fully connected to the FonVantage network. Do not interrupt the configuration process by unplugging the power or lifting the receiver on your phone during the startup process. Interruption of the startup may result in interruption of service.
• Once the blue power light for Phone 1 on the front of your device is solid blue, your FonVantage service is ready to use.
• Pick up your telephone receiver and listen for a dial tone. If you hear a dial tone, you have finished the installation and can begin making calls. If you do not get a dial tone, please complete the above directions again. If you are still unsuccessful, contact FonVantage Customer Service at 1888-FON-VANTage (888-366-8268)
